there's less than a week to bring Love Without Edges to some conclusion. It's a little like a TV series finding out it's not going to be renewed and the resulting final episodes seem phoned in. LWE never got going the way it was intended, or contemplated. Will & Jill are principals in a one-in-a-lifetime dream come true but the quality of the story here truly lacks translation. Even the ruse of Self Deprecation couldn't hide the obvious that lazy times surface expression doesn't equal brilliance. Use-it-or-lose-it really applies. It's like the comic books read in the rumpled room with the wallpaper scribbled with crayons only stimulated the Mozart region of Will's brain just enough to qualify him as an interesting report writer in a business-crisp realm but the Mailer in him never showed up. Jillian could write this story infinitely better than Will can but then she's better at so many things than Will which is why he adores her and glaums off the praise everyone gives her for her sweet reality based way of approaching life. So the story closes as does the year with the two divinely indulged kids talking about next year being the year of going places and fitting in some more remodeling. Hardly sounds like a million other pairings watching the calendar change at this time but the story remains like unattached video clips from retreat held inside oblivion. Cast away, maties it's on for next season.
