Jill had a different childhood than Will. Firstly, there's no truth that she was named Jillian after Jack & Jill in the Wizard of Oz. But Jill was Jill and she enjoyed the lush expanse of the foothills of the Sierras to call her playground as a child growing up. She has so many tales of riding in the back of a pickup with her sibs on the way to the plateaus they visited on so many occasions. Sometimes she would take a break from climbing the rocks and avoiding spiders by finding a shady spot and writing in her composition book. One of my favorites is Delilah and Dingo:
In a place called Down Under, a place where God made birds that weigh as much as a buffalo and where summertime is when the USA is singing Christmas carols, there lived a koala bear named Delilah. She was a happy little creature spending most of her days wishing she could find a friend. One day another koala bear climbed the tree where Delilah was eating leaves and told her his name was Dingo. They talked long and laughed alot. Dingo asked her to dance and she said "what's that?". Delilah couldn't believe her eyes when the two of them bounced from limb to limb on the tree and Dingo said "can I be your friend?" which Delilah giggled "sure" and they flew Quantas first class to Oxnard California where they now dance to "Hang on Sloopy" almost every day. Delilah is the prettiest koala in Oxnard and Dingo, well, he just can't stop pinching himself.
