I saw this movie Samson and Delilah and then David and Bathsheba when I was a pre-pube. Dad really liked these biblical movies in the 50s and I was impressed after taking in all the subliminal messages they offered. Samson got did in by a haircut and David just let his dick get him into all kinds of trouble. You think this would have left a strong impression on a youngster that even a powerful ruler or an invincible warrior can be neutralized if the little head takes over. Instead, the impression was solidified that 1) nice babes are out there for the picking and 2) ooga-booga sex is what men seek and achieve. Was the bible intended to reveal that or was I astute and decisive in discovering "Sam, you made the pants too long but the bulge in my nether-region raises the hem just the right height"?? I dreamed of meeting a beauty and finding out her name was Delilah. Or even Renatta. The sophistry and the connivery of propagandizing a young boy into believing "she'll be comin' around the mountain when she comes" and then watching him spend most of his adult life looking at the mountain road is just cruel and unusual behavior. But fuck you mind-melters - I stuck it out and it came true. Her name ends in a y not an a but she beats all of them in the artful embodiment as the mistress of seduction . Dad, thanks for the trips to the movies - you led me in the right direction.
