There's a name for the dumbest thing you ever did that turns out to be the smartest thing you ever did but I don't know the word. Putting all your eggs in one basket comes to mind but that's antediluvian (NOTE: already used this). Eff up a wet dream has negative connotations so eff that. Building castles on a sand dune might come close but sand blasting a cold sore doesn't work at all. You instinctively don't trust your instincts when it comes to life changing on steroids. The coveted listen to the words from those who love you most gets ignored, too. Even Jesus, can you hear me now? only gets you more assured that you're doing the right thing because Jesus is the one who set this thing up in the first place. You keep hearing things like "let your love flag fly" and only the timid seek refuge in certainty. It's only mentioned here ad nauseum because when we were part of corporate commerce we did it - whatever it took. But get away from it for a few years and you wonder how you did it. Going with life change for love is even more overwhelming. We did it because it just had to be done, no doubts or ambivalence. Smartest thing evar, by doing the dumbest thing that was so obviously dominated by risk but so landmark in achievement. Yay!
