It's really essential that early into the story of Will & Jill we go over their first kiss (see Episode 9) and that takes us to Will finding home in the west. He'd been to numerous cities west of the Rockies for business but when the plane landed on his first rendezvous with Jill after their initial encounter, he felt like he was coming home instead of visiting the Mojave for the first time. It lends itself to many possible explanations why Will, a die hard eastern city guy would thrive in the desert while experiencing "coming home" instincts when he first landed there. His life up until that time was a pastiche of contradictions. He was a rebel but married his high school sweetheart, lived within 8 miles from the house he grew up for his first 50 years, and headed a computer based R & D project despite not knowing a byte from a mouthful. Fate, destiny or maybe just Jill brings this lad into the splendor of God's country and in place of wooded hideaways and walking over prone bodies on steam vents, he's lost in a gaze of endless skies and weekend jaunts to where the saguaros dwell. Surely goodness and mercy are on hand here. A late springing boneranza and no deliverables required. It's a "pinch me" situation and it gets better. Love took him from armageddon left to arm around her. Boing.
