The eastern city guy heads west is less a story of reinventing oneself than Jill's task of staying right where she lived all her life, minus the house that was a central gathering mecca for the family, her crazy dogs and, yes, the partner with whom everyone associated her by name and accompaniment. The new beginning is romantic and beguiling but think about explaining to friends and family that everything's different now and who's this guy Will? For Jill (and Will) it was a surmountable thing having succeeded with the insurmountable to make life together happen. So that explains the tears - oh, the tears. The reality sinks in and the heartache that accompanied the ecstasy would fill the next two episodes but the tears stopped, the legalities were addressed and the triumph dwarfed the unrealistic expectations because reality exceeded imagination of how it would be by so much that it bordered insanity. There's transformation then there's transformation. The zone, they call it , living in the zone where every glimpse and every breath is transfixed on each other. The magnitude diminishes the cost to negligible. It HAD to happen but that is an overused reason. This time the HAD is irrefutable. Two star-crossed lovers fated then joined at the soul. They still are.
