So it's not like "oh, I saw this movie with Blake Lively and Nick Luvbutt and they fell in love, oh, oh . . ". Falling in love for the F I R S T time when you're at the stage in life where you've not only bought the t-shirt but you carved the moral of life into the side of a mountain (I embellish because I can), you better believe bonkers doesn't even come close to the depth of the changes that go on within you. Jill liked to joke that usually the sequence is you date, you marry, you honeymoon then you get a house. Instead , how about 1) start with the honeymoon, 2) wait for months & months until you see each other but talk via phone every day 3) then move in together but also start dating each other, 4) then buy a house and 5) finally get married. The bigger laugh is when you're almost old enough to be a great-grandfather, you are still a boyfriend. The husband thing is nice but it has creepy aspects. Boyfriends like to get their happiness primarily from making the girlfriend happy. Boyfriends can still watch the playoff games but the rubbing that goes on throughout the first AND second half makes yelling with the guys at the sports bar seem like unfortunate escapism. Boyfriends know that lookin' good is elemental and a full toothed smile and a well scrubbed normal body extends the duration of regular lovemaking by maybe decade(s) plural. To those who think living is all about making out, I say if snuggling is the anthem of love, go full Bose.
